Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the RCN Activism mobile application (“App”), operated by The Royal College of Nursing (“RCN”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and an RCN member to use this App. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

3. Use of the App

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

Misuse or interfere with the app’s functions or security

Impersonate any other person or entity

Share false or misleading information

Upload offensive, illegal, or inappropriate content

Infringe on the rights of others (e.g., copyright or privacy)

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.

4. Account and User Data

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

We reserve the right to suspend or remove your account if we believe the information is false, misleading, or breaches our community guidelines.

5. Intellectual Property

All content in the App, including text, images, graphics, logos, and software, is owned or licensed by the Royal College of Nursing and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or modify any part of the App without prior written consent.

6. Availability and Updates

We aim to keep the App available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time without notice.

We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by downtime or changes to the App.

7. User Content

The App allows you to upload messages, media, and other content. You retain ownership of your content, but you grant RCN a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, host, and display that content within the App.

You are responsible for the legality and appropriateness of any content you upload.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Royal College of Nursing is not liable for:

Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities

Errors, delays, or interruptions in the App

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without notice, if you breach these Terms or misuse the platform.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and notify you through the App where appropriate. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
